Our Mountaineers played in the trusty Pepparddome this Friday and looked to stay undefeated at home. After a tough fought battle and an outstanding third period the boys took down the Blues and improved their home record to 4-0. The game was not easily won as the Blues kept it close after 2 frames of play, but the Mounties came out in the third like they were down and poured it on, solidifying a large victory at home.

The first period started out exactly how the Mounties hoped, scoring three quick ones right out of the gate. The Mounties and Blues then exchanged back to back blows leaving the game at 5-2 with Bunio leading the way potting an early hat-trick in the first frame.

The second had an excellent start with the boys coming out and scoring three goals to start the period to take a commanding 8-2 lead. Then things took a turn for the worst and the boys allowed the Blues to score five with the Mounties only scoring one more. The game was now 9-7 heading into the room and with the Blues scoring the last three goals they had all the momentum moving into the third.

But with the game on the line, our boys shined and pushed back with an amazing outburst of offence! The boys scored 10 unanswered goals in the third with Henning leading the way putting four in the back of the net. Claude also completed his hat-trick and the boys finished the game with a comfortable 19-7 victory.

The boys now travel to Edmonton to rematch the Blues on their home soil at 8pm at Southside- George H Arena. If you don’t feel like travelling be sure to follow our twitter page @jramountieslax for up to date game updates. The boys also play this Sunday at 3:30pm back at Stu Peppard Arena taking on the Miners and look to remain undefeated at home! Hope to see you all there cheering on our favorite Calgary Lacrosse team!
