The Mounties took on their arch Rivals for the second time this season looking for redemption after losing game one. It was an away game at Max Bell arena and the boys were ready to give it their all having the rest of the weekend off. The pre-game intensity was high and the crowd was ready for a hard-fought battle!

The first started off with two Raider goals leaving the boys having to get out of a hole early. Luitweiler quickly answered to make it a one goal game but the Raiders delivered another to take a 3-1 lead. Prysko made sure the boys stayed within one, scoring with roughly nine minutes left in the first but the Raiders got back their two-goal lead shortly after. But with 48 seconds to go in the first, Bot potted one behind the Raider keeper and the Mounties were only down 4-3 going into the dressing room.

The second did not go in the Mounties favor. Again, the Raiders came out with two quick ones to start the period but Mountie’s Henning answered back to make it a 6-4 game. The rest of the period the Mounties were chasing and couldn’t manage to muster up another goal but gave up four more to their opponents. This left the boys down 10-4 and in a big hole going into the third.

The Mounties bounced back in the third and played a solid period outscoring the Raiders! Unfortunately, the Raiders lead was too much and the boys could only put three past the Raider tendy and gave up one more the rest of the period. The Mounties fell to the Raiders by the final score of 11-7.

This Wednesday, June 14th, be sure to check out the third installment of this battle at Max Bell arena at 8 pm. The Mounties are going to be playing with a mission to take down their rivals and hope to see all their fans out there cheering them on!
