Our Mounties had an away game against the Miners this weekend and were looking to get closer to first in the league. The Mounties were 2-0 when facing the Miners this season and looked to stay undefeated against their opponents. With some great defence, combined with tons of offence the Mounties were able to take away the two points and moved within 4 points of first place.

The first started off as a battle with the teams exchanging three goals less than ten minutes into the game. The Mounties buried two more to take a 5-3 lead into the dressing room. The Miners were determined to make it a close game and the Mounties needed a push to pull away in the next two periods.

The second had an excellent start with Claude scoring 45 seconds into the period. The Miners then pushed back and potted another, but Claude answered with his second of the night, to take a 7-4 lead. Unfortunately, the Mounties gave up two goals within 13 seconds making it a 7-6 game. Outstandingly, this did not phase the Mounties as they scored four goals in the last four minutes of the game to take a 11-6 lead into the room.

Miners were on their heels starting the third and the Mounties took advantage having a dominant period of offence, with great goaltending and defence. The Mounties outscored their opponent 7-1 in the third, walking away with a solid 18-7 victory.

With a big Wednesday matchup at Stu Peppard Arena at 7 pm against the first place Raiders, the boys look to keep up this offence and move within two points of first place! Hope to see you all there!
