The Mounties took on their arch rivals this Wednesday at the Peppardome and put up a fight. Unfortunately, the Mounties got down early and were chasing the entire game. After seeing the Raiders for the fourth time this year, the Mounties know what to expect in their last head to head matchup against the Raiders coming up in a couple weeks and look to head into playoffs on a winning note against the first-place rival.

The first started out great with Foster scoring 1:43 into the first but then the sticks got cold and the Raiders scored three unanswered. Bunio buried with roughly 4 and half minutes remaining but the Raiders responded quickly to regain the two-goal lead. Mounties had some work to do going down after the first.

Again, our Mounties came out firing, scoring the first goal of the period, but sadly quickly gave it back. The Raiders scored another but Foster responded and again the lead was down to two. The period looked to end on a two-goal lead for the Raiders but then the Mounties gave up one late with roughly a minute left and now had a three-goal deficit to climb out of.

The third started with a quick Raider goal but Foster tucked in his third of the night shortly after! Unfortunately, the Raiders had a response to our push back all night and scored four more the rest of the period while we were only able to put two more passed their keeper. The final score ended 12-7 and the boys have some studying to do for our next match against this very tough opponent.

This Saturday the Mounties play at home in Stu Peppard Arena at 3:30 against the Miners! Our Mounties are undefeated against the Miners this season and look to keep that streak alive. Hope to see you all cheering on the boys loud and proud!
